BOXING

Boxing is a volunteer program for our clients.  This program is designed to teach the fundamental techniques in the training of boxing.  Clients are trained by coaches with professional boxing experience.  The main purpose of this program is the physical fitness aspects for good health.

LIFE SKILLS 101

Our Life Skills program takes our clients from: budgeting, meal planning, shopping, preparation, cooking all the way to clean-up.  Life Skills is taught by Carole Webber, who is a registered nurse with experience in residential care meal preparations.

EQUINE THERAPY

Our three facilities have incorporated Equine Therapy, which is currently used by such facilities as Sierra Tucson, Horse Sense of the Carolinas and Visions in Malibu, is a successful mental health component in individual therapy, family therapy, and cooperation team building.

 

ART THERAPY

Art is one of the mandated programs for Kids to Kids.  A professional artist, Shela Levine, teaches clients basic art styles.  Shela has over 30 years of art experience.  Her work has been shown in art galleries and has made the cover of popular magazines.

DRUG AND ALCOHOL EDUCATION

For 29 years the Palmer Drug Abuse Program has been quietly providing an essential service: teenage substance abuse treatment and prevention programs in Ventura County available to all families, regardless of ability to pay.  PDAP’s goal is to prevent and reduce drug and alcohol use by youth in Ventura County, prevent the harm done by this use, and encourage drug-free choices.  Hundreds of people, in all parts of Ventura County, are helped each year by PDAP.  Our counselor, Patty Wallace, brings 15 years of Drug and Alcohol treatment experience.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Clients are required to meet with a trained clinician a minimum of one hour per week.  Individual therapy focuses on: emotional, psychological, social, mental and family related areas of the residents.

Serenity House – Ventura

Ventura home built in early 1960′s. This is vintage one story single family home of approximately 2300 square feet.  It has 3 large bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a nice open floor plan.  Large kitchen space and living room with plenty of room for our six residents. In our backyard there is a large patio cover convenient for on site visits. this home also boast a large separate room for a staff office.

Ojai: Built in 2002 this facility is a modern two story single family home of approx 3200 sq. feet. It has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Large kitchen, living room and back yard with plenty of space for our six residents.  Also a large staff room/Office.
